i see in one of the other posts, main coast is feeling intimidated, because he has an older ski, and doesn't want to ask questions.

how about adding a vintage section? personally i would also like a seperate kawasaki, and yamaha mfg. type tech section as well.

i too hang here every day, even though i don't post much.

mainly because i ride kawis, ( SXi pro, and SXR, and some vitage skis as well).
although, i am really thinking of selling the pro, and getting a round nose. (did i just say that out loud??)

i think all things considered, and what is going on lately, this may be a good chance for this site to grow more.

PLEASE don't get me wrong, i like it fine how it is, and understand if you'd rather keep it small, and more specific.

just a thought, and a reason for me to post. lol

I personally like the simplicity and am more along the lines of "it it ain't broke . . .".

Of course, at some point if traffic spikes it may get "broke."

I find myself reading things that I normally wouldn't even see let alone read because they are in a larger forum but to each his own.

Zig, I agree - I think a Yamaha Tech section, a Kawasaki Tech section, and perhaps a vintage forum would be great additions.

I dont know how I feel about it yet. the more sections we have the more people are going to migrate to one or the other splitting the board more and more. where it is now I could post a problem with my 550 in the general section and guys that pretty much only ride SJs now and would not normally go to a vintage section can still chime in. if the board was huge I could see the imprtance. if the general section was getting 5 pages of posts a day but we might get a half page as it is now.

Exactly. This is what I was trying to say, you just said it a lot clearer.

I agree with keeping the number of folders low. I don't see why vintage questions can't be asked in a general tech folder at this point. We're still a somewhat small group.

Great point - maybe we should stay the way we are.

I added "Classics", then added "Driveline", then deleted "Classics". I'm a yo-yo!!!!

I agree, I'd like to keep the forum count manageable because it does force people to 'cyber-mingle' I guess.

Just plain me....
Keep it small & (insert laughs) intimate; yes I said intimate. With too many sub-topics, forums, etc. the site looses it's feel, just like another one has. This site is easy to navigate & easy to read. K.I.S.S - keep it sweet & simple

I just use the New Post button. I look through the new posts and read what interests me. If someone posted something about a vintage ski it would show up in the new posts and anyone who wanted to read or respond can. Those who don't care about it can leave it. Personally I like the site the way it is.

I say keep it in general, more views...........

do not want to end up with 500 gazillion different sub topics...............(sections)

I agree... keeping it simple you are less likely to have a million reposts of the same topic.
