Super Jet hot engine coupler

My engine side coupler is getting searing hot after riding. The ski starts to run like crap when this happens.

Is my crank bearing about to fail? What else could it be? Cylinders and exhaust are hot but within normal conditions for 100* weather.

They get pretty hot ! is it sizzle water hot ?

i've had mine get hot before... it was from the motor not being shimmed properly. re-shimmed and all was good.

Its hot enough to wear I can hold my hand on it.

You can't hold your hand on the end of a crankshaft after an engine has been running and the heat transfers to the coupler. The coupler is going to get real hot.

Ok...I just found it really strange since my dads rn wasn't hot at all. Guess I gotta figure out why my ski is bogging above half throttle now.

Everytime I busted a Coupler, she was super hot. Reshimmed the motor begginging of the season and now we are good

Have you had flywheel off lately? Loose flywheel will cause crank/coupler to get VERY hot.

Nope flywheel hasn't been off

Jetting is correct and my alignment is spot on. Why else could this coupler be getting so hot and the ski running like crap above half throttle all of a sudden?
