Ok so im following a thread on here on how to remove a stock yamaha impeller and install an AM one. question i have is what rubber grommet do i run with my 9/15 (small or big one) and what is the big machined nut for? I see that the machined nut will slide into the impeller but im not sure if i need to run it.. All the parts are in the attached picture. Sorry this is my first impeller installation so im learning as i go. I have a 97 superjet with a head/pipe/msd/light. flywheel/etc.

the big nut is the tool you will use to tighten the prop with, it doesnt stay on its just a tool. im not sure if the differences in the grommet i run one like the one on the right.

i used the grommet that had a tight fit on the shaft i believe it was the longer one. Don't forget to check your clearance after you installed the impeller in the housing and re lube the splines on the shaft when re installing the pump.
