I thought my RN new oem hood seal was to big too and didnt think there was any way it would fit. But do you think Yamaha would make so many that didnt fit?

Well Idok had the right idea and I did it just like he said and it fit perfect with no cutting. Heres the thread:

You have to start in the front middle and do about 4-6" at a time on each side evenly and work your way all the way around to the back middle. I used gel super glue and its still perfect and hasnt moved or came loose and has lasted so far since I got the ski completed in June.

contact cement and DONT cut it.

i start in the corners and 'compress' the rubber to make it fit between corners. some people have a tendency to stretch the seal as theyre laying it in. you want just the opposite.

I have read many times that super glue is the best for the hood seal. I am going to need to buy a new one here soon. Don't mean to hijack, but what hood seal are we talking about Tom21? I am looking into getting the JSS one, but have seems like people are 50/50 on whether they like it or not. I'll probably end up ordering an OEM one.

im not liking the jss
