Can someone remind me which aftermarket hood seal to use on my RN now that the stocker has given way? I know there's a good replacement, but I can't remember what. Thanks.

there isnt a good replacement other than the seal materials from mcmaster car or grainger, or whever ( rubber seal channel)

ive got an older JSS hood seal, and it doesnt work so hot. its better than the worn out factory seal was, but not by much.

Im curreently looking at other options.

I used spare Hydro turf material. A skinny strip all the way around to fill the groove. than a 1in wide strip around the top of that. Hood seals tighter than virgin... you know what!! Plus i added a small weather stripping gasket to the hood to make it even tighter. Kind of like a virgin... you know what... with a condom!!

I used John's kit from Jet Ski Solutions. Holding up real well, and seals tight. Did a couple subs riding yesterday with minimal water when I turned on my bilge. I tried the Hydro Turf kit and couldn't get it to work. For $30 JSS's kit is hard to beat.

Wait until you start trying to Roll and you are landing on the side, the hood gets moved from side to side.......... my hood hooks are ground out from this..........(24/7 hood hooks)......

If you are not doing any rolls or attempting then the seal is fine, depending on what hood you are running will depend on how long the seal will last.

Thats interesting - my friend has this JSS seal and his new A T P hood has split twice in a few weeks attempting BR's... ATP have replaced it but stipulated he must use the OEM hood seal.. it was splitting where the liner joins the hood at the back.

I use the JSS hood seal with my 24/7 SR71 and have no problems at all - I actually really like it.. it latches down pretty tight though.. I am starting to worry now!..

Just my 2 cents..

Hardly... - the A T P hood is top quality, I had a close up look at it.. A T P warranty was faultless and they replaced it..

The HT hood seal hit is hard to get to work on anything but old kawi 550 style hulls

I just used turf material and built it up to two layers
