Just finished making a pole limiting rope and though I would share some pics.

All materials were purchased from walmart/home depot =D

Total cost was less than $15 for enough to make 2 sets and tons of extra rope left over.

Nice how to but you might want to think about attaching the rope somewhere else besides the hood latch. That latch will pop off pretty easily. I used a stainless steel eyelet just below the latch.

All the hardware is galvanized steel so hopefully it will not rust.

I'll give it some test runs with it wraped around the latch and if it pops off i'll add a eyelet like yours.

Thanks

Also if you put carabiners on both ends then you can use it as a tow rope also. I second the SS hardware. Even that galvanized steel will rust pretty quick.

And put a BFB on the back,(big farking backingplate) or it will pull through like it did to Gasgas this weekend.

lol i have a blowsion one and already snapped the eyelet and the second ss eyelet i bought from ace for the mount on the firewall...

think i changed out the caribeaners to better ones too since they rusted pretty quick....if i ever need one again ill definitely make my own.

last weekend i snapped the bottom eyelet right out and tore up some fiberglass....

luckily i bought some big ass strong ss eyelets now and use bigger washers as a backing plate. i ran up on a sandbar at low tide the other day and wiped out right over the bars at maybe 15 mph... if i didnt have a limiter rope i wouldve crunched the front of my ski up bad.
