home made footholds

ok so i have a 2008 sxr and i dont want to spend 150 for some foothold so im going to fabricate my own.

has anyone done this?

if so, does anyone have some dimensions like how far back to go and how deep i can cut.

also if any one has some tips on how to mod and where to get the supplies that would be awesome.

pictures or videos would be awesome as well!!!

thanks everyone!!

US composites has every thing you need. Basically all you need is epoxy resin & cloth. You cut out a rough shape with a dremel then sand the shape of the footholds into the foam then cover with glass.

a few layers of 8 oz all over then a few layers of biax in the bottom should do the trick. It takes a long time to get a good shape. Between all the shaping, extra sanding, glassing, and huge mess that it makes it's worth it just to buy footholds. It's safe to say this way easily adds 6 hours to the install. When I installed regular footholds on my square nose it was so much easier.
