300/440/550 homade d-cut?

i have an ocean pro ride plate on my 550sx that sits extends about 1" past the rear of the ski. would cutting a d-cut into it work as well buying a plate with the cut already in it?
btw, im gonna be askin alot of odd questions for a while since this is my first ski and my first season riding.

D-cut ride plates are all custom. None of them come with that shape.

cutting it flush with the back of the ski would bring the nose up a little. I would try that before d-cutting it. Also a straight line cut would be a little easier.

But....on a 550, I would think that doing this mod would make it porpoise...

some people dont have tools or know how to cut it.
plus its carbon fiber.

Yeah, yeah. Blah, blah, blah...It's for a 550, you wouldn't want to d-cut a ride plate for it. Period.

And any SJ owner that can't do their own D-cut needs to sell their SJ and get a couch! That's laziness.:Banane36:
