Took the ski's to the lake to try them out. I'm hooked! Balance was tricky at first.

After some playing around, got the feel of them.

Any hints for better performance in fresh water?? I would like a better top end, but, don't want to sacrifice too much on the bottom. Oh, and if you push it, they lose bite in the water and start to slide. Any cures?

If you keep them upright in a turn they will slide (sometime this is good). If you lean them over a moderate amount they rail. If you lean them in too much the pump will come unhooked (an aftermarket grate will help with how much you can get away with). You will find a happy medium that if done right will allow you to crank the bars all the way at full speed (stock ski) and not slide out. Hang on tight! Another thing is that they like it when you weight the outside rear corner of the ski with your foot during a turn. It's a little unnatural but give it a try and don't let if affect the amount you are leaning it over.

The more you can shift your weight to the back while turning will keep the pump hooked up. I sometimes slide almost off the back of the seat when carving turns in fresh water and like they said above if you roll to much on a rail it will unhook the pump.

the key is to ride it like a stand-up. step forward with the foot on the side of the direction you want to go and put all of your weight on the outside foot and push down. on a stock ski you should be able to run WOT and turn without letting up

Thank you!!

Thanks to all for the help. Looking into a Maxiloader intake grate right now. Going out again this weekend. I'll let you know if I skip myself like a friggin' stone or pull it off with some success. This should be fun, wife is charging the camera now. More to come.
