Hmm, OK, Wow. More BR BS.

Wow, Today was the day. I found the Powerband on my ski. And started to spin correctly, and did it ALL faster. Stupid fast. This must be the next step in the BR process. I was spinninig so fast and not afraid . . . I'm right on the brink.

When you start to spin correctly you don't fall away from the ski like I have a million times.

You gotta put the handlepole on the hood and ANTICIPATE the spin and with a little pop, BAM you fly. I can see now for the first time that when you get this whole BR thing dialed it's almost effortless.

You just do the little dance and wham you are spinning though the air.

I bet I did 50 today faster than I ever have. I landed not one, but every one was spinning so much faster than they ever have before.

Today was one of the best days I've ever ridden. I can't wait!!!! :banghead: :woot:

I've been trying about a year. I've dedicated myself to it. I go out about 3 times a week and just practice.

I've gone slow though. I didn't want to get hurt so up until today, I've never done one with ANY speed at all. For some reason they were getting better recently.

I was (and have been) practicing on little bity waves and it's starting to pay off. I was doing rodeos today off nothing. Just a pre-jump and BAM!

I had one off a little wave that went all the way to the other rail. I wasn't ready so I flailed it, . . .

All out of a stock stroke, ported by ME, motor.

keep it up man, took me three yrs of being a puss and not having the balls to commit, then bam, but now i have the fear again , it's a cool feeling when you feel the ski go over though

awesome. i read your last thread on BR set up wakes. I still need more practice at those but i do see what you're saying about the double wakes and stuff. I actually started to really try BRs now. Committing to it is a big i think. I get flakey a slip second before and it messes me up big time and ill put half @ss effort into it.

want to type up your new BR technique process one more time? sort of a step by step (which should happen in a matter of seconds)

As I look back now (still not pulling this off) I can say the most important things are:

1. Keep trying
2. Think about what you are doing that works
3. Think about what you are not doing but know you should

My re-cap:

Let's say you have a little wave, just to make it easier. And lets say there are for or five little ones coming. You hop up a little on the first one and anticipate that you are going to throw your body one way. As you do this you trun the bars to turn the opposite way. So now you are sort-of turned (to the right in my case). But you are going to throw your body to the left. However you have to remember that you want to put you body where the ski is as it spins. So you can't lay off to one side, your rotation has to be "tight" So, you land and now it's time to turn the other way, but you have to keep several things in mind -1. Your bars should be on the hood (thanks geek) -2. You have to pull the bars all the way to the stop on this critical turn (all the freaking way), not 1/4, not 1/2, but all the way. So you turn, hit the gas, throw your body to one side, and keep your eyes open. If you've done everything correctly the ski should spin super fast and you'll have no idea what happened. After you get that down, do it faster until you pull the whole enchilada off.

Now, mind you, I have read all the advice posted by others a million times, and I can say that it's all good . . . the advice. So, read up on every thread that there is about BRs. Write that $#!+ down. Think about it when you are practicing. You have to think about what is happening and what you aren't doing that others have said you should.

Many times it won't work the first time. I tried the handlepole on the hood thing about 15 times before it felt like it was a good idea.

The first time I ever tried a roll I just practiced bending over and falling to the left. No jump, just eat it. Right into the water. At very slow speed. Litterally bend over and fall over to the left.

Then I'd look at my rail as I tried to roll. That kept me close, but it lacked vision, so the roll would only go so far before I'd start to come off of the ski.

I got hurt when I first started trying to to do these. I tore my rotator cuff. That scared me, so I took the whole process real slow. So be careful, and if you hurt your shoulder don't just keep trying without getting it checked out. Being a cool though guy could cost you partial use of your arm for the rest of your life.

I know this is one big mess, but I gotta tell you, so is learing how to BR. Remember, keep at it, and think.

I did it! :arms: :arms: :arms:

I pulled off 2 today. They were ugly, but I rode them out with my body not touching the water (I think). Caught the front right part of the bottom of the hull and sliced the water enough to ride it out. Once again on practically nothing - super small waves.

Tom beat me though. He pulled it off yesterday (or the day before.) Props to you bud, you got it first. Now on to see who will get the 1st backflip.

Nevertheless, I'm stoked!
