YES,You have a fundamental misunderstanding of what tongue weight vs rated towing weight is.

Thats just not how it works. Do you even know what tongue weight is? My truck is rated to tow 6100 lbs, but it is a short bed, so if i load two standups in the bed, and one on an extended hitch hauler to clear the lowered tailgate, my truck would be sagging like it crapped its diaper. If you need to haul one ski, the rad dudes have the best hitch hauler

I built one that is very sturdy for about $80. I also built a roll around stand that is the same height as my hitch hauler while in my truck. It makes unloading very easy after a days ride. Spent about $200 to build them both. Both are made of steel.

I waas trying to explain towing cap./tongue wt. I realize it didnt make much sense after i posted it, but don't worry, it's ok.
