I bought a ram 1500 and it has the dual exhaust out the rear bumper. Has anyone had any issues with the heat hitting there ski?

just melted (an empty) gas can on my honda crv hitch hauler today from the exhaust blasting on it!

was the hauler close to it? need to put the hauler on and see the distance from the ski to the rack.
