Hi im new and i have a prob with my ski

hi.., last week i purchesed my first jet ski., it is a kawazaki sx650., but i seem to have a problem. it is not sucking water in to cool the engine. i blew all the pipes out and still no joy., what sucs the water up is it a pump or is it vacuum?? when i got it hme i took the exhaust pipe off near the manifold and notice the rubber was perissised if anyone has info or diagrams on this open loop system can you please help me thanks matt...,

The jet pump under the tray at the rear has a fitting on it where the water comes from. That goes through a tube in the hull into the rear of the engine compartment, then a hose goes from the tube to the engine.
