funny though I was looking at digi cameras today.

Not A dSLR though, I was looking at an "ultra zoom" 5+ megapixel.

$200-$300 MAYBE $400 top, I dont want to invest too much since it will go to teh lake, in the boat, in the water, and in the garage, and on backpacking trips ( COLD, WET, and dropped)

any ideas or inputs on those types of cameras?

these are the ones I have been thinking about.

Canon PowerShot S2

Kodak EasySHare Z650

Sony Cyber Shot DSC- H2

Fuji Finepix S5200

Panasonic Lumix Dmc-Fz7s

any ideas or input?

sorry for trying to make some use out of your thread midget nun.

WOW! I had no idea there was such a thing as 39 megapixel! The files must be huge! Imagine the hard drive space you would need!
For 30 grand it better fly me to every event too! And my ski!

according to Consumer Reports the red highlights got excellent rating; blue highlights got very good rating. No ratings for the other exact model of the other two, however....

Kodak EasyShare P880, P850 & Z740 - very good
Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX1 & FZ20S -very good

This has not been a paid endorsement for Consumer Reports...however I will take alcohol as payment for my time:biggrin:

Since you can't afford the Hasslehoff camera, or whatever its called... I'll never buy anything other than a Canon again. I have the little 450 and its amazing. $350 I think?
