I imagine that it will, but never tried it. Its just on my square hood mod I'm doing. I need to build some channel thingys and stick them to my inside hood mod that is already epoxy resin(DOW 828).

Of course I'll prep it correctly.

TIA:woot:

Why not use epoxy to make the channel thingys? I bet the polyester would stick, but not as well as epoxy (for sure). I wouldn't waste any time with the polyester.

Well at this point, I'm almost out of epoxy resin and have just enough to secure the channels to the epoxy base thats all over the inside of the hood. I'll just cover the chanels with epoxy.
I just made the channels(polyester)and its drying, but dont take to long when its 100..lol

I dont know if you ever seen skinakeds custom(not moody masher liner)square hood mod that Blowsion did for him with the channels. Mines going to be like that. I'm taking pics too. Fully reinforced with epoxy through out and I'm about ready to puke on this sucker and it needs to be done now!!!!:banghead:

If properly prepped, polyester can stick but I wouldn't trust it in areas under high stress, I've seen polyester on SMC delaminate in high stress areas before... If it's not a high stress/structural thing I wouldn't worry too much.

haha, polyester is good for certain things, epoxy for others... polyester can be just as strong as epoxy however the adhesion to 'other' substances is greater with an epoxy resin... build the channels with polyester and glue them to the hood with epoxy, you will be good to go

maybe go one better and encapsulate the thing with 1-2 plys of glass epoxy.
(not sure what it is or how strong it needs to be .. )
