It was a little scary surfing at the end of beach road in Capistrano Beach "poche" and he would jump over the backs of the wave.I would say to myself I know he can't see me as I'm paddling out.

I remember an interview with Herbie back in the day and he said no life jacket so he could duck dive if necessary.

I think there is a pic of him at pipe with a camera on the nose pointed back at him and the caption says something like that. Didn't u post the pic once??

Wow, awesome, Herbie's extreme inspiring! Not to highjack this thread with another person, although Laird Hamilton is another middle aged guy who is tearin it up as well. Since I am mid 40s it's great to see guys like this on par or better then the young pups!
