I am for the most part new to the Water World. I raced competitive amateur motocross for 6-7 years. June of 09 i purchased a pre owned "95" Kawa 550sx. Rode it every day for three months and blew the top end.
Immediately following I decided to upgrade and purchased a pre-owned “07” stock SX-R 800.
I am so addicted to the sport and my ski that I might take it over board, but I have a few questions that I would like to get answered.
I ride my SX-R almost everyday on an average of two hours a day or every other day. When I ride I ride the ski hard. I mean really hard, I have the throttle open for a good amount of time and It feels like I am raping the machine. I jump occasionally and have gone to the surf a few times. The original owner visited the surf often (based on a visual of the carb). I rest in between ride sessions but am back on it. When it comes to any motorsports I am all over it at an advanced level. I am not trying to brag, but deliver the information to receive good feedback.
I have between 185-190 PSI in each cylinder and it concerns me that it is high. I am using 93 octane and a 40:1 oil ratio.
Are these skis made to be stressed to almost max? Do I need to let it rest at times? What can I do to prevent catastrophes?
