I replaced my motor mounts on my 04 SuperJet because I broke two of them in the same outing. Now that I've got the new ones on there is a pretty good size gap between the couplers. How do I fix this and get the gap closer? Do I need to unthread some of the coupler to take up some of the space? I'm guessing it could have gotten tighter when it came loose the first time? Help!

1st. It may sound stupid, but make sure your engine is close to the back (firewall) as possible.

2nd. When you broke the mounts, it is possible that the midshaft got knocked further into the bearing. You'll have to remove the midshaft housing from the hull and check how far the midshaft sticks out the back. Knock it/press it back to spec if needed.

for freestyle you actually want a decent sized gap.... maybe not quite as big as what you have going on there...but prob. pretty close... you actually dont want the gap that the manual calls out... at least thats what some engine builder told me.... that way the couplers dont clash together and crack I guess....
