Super Jet Help!!

Went out on the superjet today and everything was fine. Turned engine off to have a rest but when I went back out, nothing, didn't even turn over? I do hear a vibrating notice coming from either ecu or starter. I did think battery but have just topped up and maintained it. I haven't been able to flush it because of this any advice would be greatly appreciated, it's a 2011 superjet.

Regards, trotty

Got it started and got all water out but hasn't been flushed, battery was completely flat!!. Livid that I haven't been able to start it since. I've got the battery on charge but won't be able to start it till tomorrow as its late and will take a while to charge. I know il need a new battery but just frustrated that I can't flush it tonight, this will be the first time since buying it that I hadn't been flushed on the day :-(

More risk from not flushing than jumping it so you made the right choice.

Is your battery really dead or is there an issue with the charging circuit or starter? I have had plenty of dead batteries when I first get to the launch but once my ski is running the first time, the battery is always topped off enough to restart.

Hey Boyer, well there was no sign of it deteriorating like a battery, it just went from turning over and running fine, to nothing, just a humming (think starter solenoid?). I jumped it to get saltwater out at sea but once home I haven't been able to run freshwater through it to clear the coolant jacket lines of salt!! :-(. I have taken battery out and stuck it on my charger, hopefully tomorrow it turns over and I can run freshwater through it. I don't know what else to do atm.

Hey guys,

Took ski out today after putting new battery on. Lasted 10mins and then started losing power so the problems still their. I didn't carry on running it through fear of running battery out again. The spout isn't working either!!. Things that I have done since last year are 1 trigger load of grease in the int housing which is what was advised. I did not winterise the ski as I run it at 40-1 and its stored in a heated garage, (lame excuse). It has new plugs. What could be the problem?, it ran perfect last year, could it be stale fuel? There was about a litre in tank that had been their for about 6 months. This was then filled with fresh stuff before going out. Literally it goes ok then all of a sudden accelerating again under load, it loses power to the point at which it won't start!!!.

Have you checked your cooling lines to be sure they're not cracked or plugged? If your superjet has the overheat sensor it could be causing the power loss.

BTW... what is the "spout" that's not working... do you mean the pisser? If your pisser is not running, you have a cooling problem.

There's no coolant issue, plenty of pressure coming from pisser. The vertical water spout stopped working, I've blown through it so hopefully this has resolved it. This isn't related to my main issue which is the bogging down and non charging of battery. I've had a look at the ground cable and felt where it connects underneath, which it seems secure. I know I need a multimeter to test certain things but don't know where to start as it could be a number of things!! :-(

Right, took ski out today ran completely fine. Flushed out then after revving water out just bogged down. Restarted and doesn't idle correctly and at one point throttle got stuck, think I've identified the problem as being the carbs.

Carbs were cleaned today, was told there was a lot of crap in there and if does it again to take all lines and tank off as well as carb and clean again. All gaskets were fine so no rebuild kit needed. Thinking about it though, I have been careful, always using a filter when fuelling etc, strange1.
