I'm running a 771BB motor with a factory pipe bored to 48mm with a blaster mod chamber to an ATP water box. Pump set up is a mag setback with a 13/18 impeller. Electronics are MSD enhancer/coil with an aluminum charging flywheel.
Last season I started with a set of rebuild 44's running a/m f/a with 117.5 pilots and 120 mains with 2.3 n/s running 21 pop. Reeds where v-force II's.
I could get the ski running well and brapped very nicely from mid to top and right off idle but from off idle to above mid she was very flat and bogged down a lot especially if you held a constant throttle position..........I mean ALOT! always had to be twitchy on the throttle not to foul plugs. Even after tuning the lows and high's into the point of 1/2 turn on the lows and 7/8's on the highs. At that point I changed jets to the jets listed above which was one size down on each. Original set up had (120p/122.5m) I even when back to a 1.5 n/s with the OEM f/a to see if that would help or hinder to ski and it definitely didn't help. Very sluggish on throttle response so I changed back to 2.0 n/s with a pop around 28.
I screwed with this set up for most of last summer and finally at Wave Rave I got so sick of it I changed over to OEM 38's with a/m f/a running 75 pilots/ 145 mains , 2.3 n/s paired (21 pop) with OEM reeds cages with carbon tech reeds. This set up proved to be very reliable and with consistent predictable power Holy sh*t I just hit the throttle feeling was gone. I would like to try again with another set of 44's that I am going to rebuild and set up but am looking for some input on where I should start with my motor/pump combination.
Any input or advise would be great!
