Mine has started doing the exact same thing. I have a TL ignition set up by JSS with a 1yr old starter solenoid, so I doubt that is it. I also have to hold the off button in for a few seconds to turn it off. I didn't use to have to do that. I'm thinking the start/stop switch could be both of our problems.

mine did the same thing. it turned out to be in the actual switch housing the stop button wires were jacked and would randomly short as if i was pressing the stop button.

OK, I have a new msd starter relay...not a solenoid...my bad.

I checked my start/stop switch. Opened them all up and they were all clean. Now I'm clueless again. Hope your having better luck than me.

A relay is a switch contact activated by an electromagnet. The purpose it to have a small current activate the magnet to make a switch contact close that will handle a large current. This isolates the large current carrying wires from the small switch that activates the magnet. Your ski uses a starter relay. A solenoid is a electomagnet that activates a plunger that moves a lever or engages a valve or larger device. Automotive starters use a solenoid to kick the starter gear head out to the flywheel. Similar but different. You probably have either a bad starter relay or a starter that has a failing brush contact. Troubleshoot the relay first.

last year my start stop would just not work out of now where randomly, it turned out to be plugs that went in to the ebox. but mine was all or nothing i would think its ur relay or a bad connection

the male/female connectors are ok and clean

I forgot!
clean up all the contacts, grounds, and both positive wire connections inside your box while it is open. use dielectric grease on all connections. in your start stop switch check the tether switch. it is a slide switch that has two contacts on little springs that can get gummed up and not let the spring push the contact to the other point of contact. this was my intermediate start button problem. kinda hard to describe but if you take it apart you will see what has to be done to maintain good contact.
