Better go ahead and remove ebox and open it up and clea and dry it out and remove flywheel cover and do the same once you get it running, cuz this thing is shot if not. Salt water is a motor & elecs killer bro. Get to wrenching vacation or not. keep batterys on charge while wrenching, the time and money spent now will save alot later trust me.

Sounds like a fuel problem since it is firing at all. Make sure you are getting fuel to pump into the carbs. You might have gotten water in the carbs and blown the diaphrams. It is probably running a couple of seconds on the starter fluid only. You could also have water in the bottom of the tank and are not pulling any fuel into the carbs. Check those two things. Check the tank first.

this is exactly what happened to my sxi when i first got into riding...couldn't get it refired..let it sit till the next afternoon and what do you know..seized motor..

ok incase anyone is interested on our progress, we decided to pull the motor ( im doing it now ) and we are going to tear it apart and clean and make sure everything is good. instead of trying to get it to run and shorten the engine life. its going to be a long and greasy day

I'd try to run it on fresh gas, put the fuel line into a gas jug. I had a ski sink and got about a gallon of salt water in the fuel tank.
Get jumper cables so you can keep your battery going until you get it to run.

As mentioned above, this is a VERY common problem, and usually can be fixed in about 10-15 min.
If you got the water out of the motor/case and it won't run it means:
1.) you have water in the fuel tank (fix that as mentioned above until you can siphon out the bad gas)
2.) You have water in the electrical box or stator. open those up
3.) Check the black/white connectors as they may have gotten wet and are giving a bad connection.

I wouldn't sweat the overnight. Things don't really start to rust until oxygen in air gets on them. Actually keeping it submerged in water would be better than drying it out without getting it covered in oil again. Main problem is if only part of the crank was submerged, the part in the air (that had once been submerged before you cranked the ski) may rust. Don't think any significant damage would occur overnight (just a fine surface rust that will get washed off once you get it running).
I had a camera once and the instructions said if you ever got it wet in salt water to keep it submerged in water in tupperware or something and send it in to be repaired (not to let it dry).

You got water in the tank. Syphon the bottom of the tank until you hit fuel.

That's 100% your problem.

....oops. the motor is on the floor of the garage now. but when we pulled it, my dad said some water came out of the crankcase. So we are going to pull the bottom off and make sure nothing is rusted, lubricate everything, and re-assemble.
