HELP RN pole on a SN

i know this has been covered a million times, i have searched for ever and cant find my answer. i am in the process of putting a rn pole on my sn but there is one problem the steering cable. it doesnt work , but every thread i read says it works fine. so i was like maybe it the cable so i bought another one from a rn. it is a couple inches sorter but looks exactly the same. the pump area clips on fine, when i go to clip it in the turn plate the cable is too long when it is in the groove in the pole. it is like the metal jacket between the 2 rubber pieces is to long is this adjustable or some thing some one please help. thanks

This is a pic of where the cable sits with it in the slot for the pump to be pointed straight so you can see that is couple inches to long. What to do?

hmmm i didnt have this problem when i put my rn pole on the sn. I know i had to make a new catch to hold the calble to the pole, and a bunch of grinding but no problems with steering cable. we used the old cable. is the nozzle turned? doubt its that easy
