Help newbie doing some work - replace handle pole question

I just started to try to replace my handle pole and have already been stumped. ...I am taking apart the stock pole and got to the start/stop switch (also where my bilge pump switch is located). It looks complicated to take apart, but too big to fit the whole assembly through the handle pole... Do I just cut the wires and then re-splice or do i take it apart to fish it through the new pole.

This is a completely stock ski - broke/cracked but ridable stock pole and replacing with a stock pole. trying to keep things simple - I do not like to wrench - any other surprises I should expect doing this work? ...help! Please!

disconnect the start stop at the ebox and go the other way.

I too am about to go threw the same thing. It looks like theres some sort of clip on the start stop switch... Could it be done from the top? OR is disconnecting it from the e box the only and best way to go?

Disconnect from e box is the way to go.
