95sj, 61x/61x, single stock carb, B-pipe, MSD enhancer, ADA head, #0 lightened flywheel, don't know what prop, stubby pump cone...

Had X-Scream go through it 2 years ago and got it all tuned up and ready to rock. It hasn't given me a single problem since then, but I'm ready for more power. Not sure what direction to go.

Option #1: 62t cases and dual carbs, keep the stock cylinder?
Option #2: Keep the 61x cases and get cylinders ported and bigger single carb?

What would give me better bang for the buck?

I ride alone (just off the beach my wife and kids play on), mostly flat water and boat wake stuff.

I live an hour away from X-scream so they will do the work and tune it up.

Thanks!

J

a bigger (46or46mm) single carb really is not the answer.
dual carbs would give you a lot more of everything.

crankcase would help too, but get a set of 760 64x cases.
that way your allready for a b/b cly.

also bore the pump's reduction nozzle.

you need to find out what prop you have....

I would contact XScream and ask. They were going to release some more "budget friendly " options this summer.

He's already runny a stubby cone. Sometimes folks are better off with either a bored nozzle OR a stubby cone, but not necessarily both.

Prop should be a concord swirl 13/16. I'd go 62t cases and dual carbs. Then ur set for some future xmetal work...porting and a bore.

Decided to stretch (a lot) the budget and bought the JetManiac/Blue ported motor w/ 33cc domes. Instead of wasting time doing it myself I just dropped the ski off with them. Blue did the compete engine swap, carb tune and break in. He even personally delivered it back to me today. Won't get to test it out until Sunday afternoon, can't wait!!! Ported engine, dual carbs, over 200lbs compression..... This should last me a couple more years then I'll go the aftermarket light weight hull route. Unless someone's got a superfreak their selling cheap :)

Oh, and I've got my crappy 61x/61x motor I'm parting out. Crank bearings are pretty much shot, rods are good, cylinder is scored a bit and will need a bore. Non-girdled ADA head w/ 35cc domes in good shape and a single 44 carb w/ stock F/A and intake. I'll be posting a separate for sale post once I get some pics.
