Help me select parts for HPE 809 swap.

Location

I bought the HPE 809, stage 2 porting, pump gas, from the for sale section. I also got 46mm carbs for it along with a stock style 4 bolt intake section. I will be needing reeds, pipe, and a prop to finish the package I presume. My goals are more biased towards low end power, though it would be nice if I could hit 55mph or so as well. A b pipe limited with a ported manifold has been suggested. I'm reading that my stock water box will be fine. I may wait on a prop to see how my current one does.

Have:
2013 Superjet
HPE 809 stage 2
46mm carbs

Need:
Pipe, porting?
Reeds
Prop
Anything I'm forgetting?

What parts do you recommend?
If the stock motor is 70hp, how much would you estimate the new setup will have?

Thanks for any help.

10/16 hooker or 12/18 yq-cd solas if running a 144mm pump. Make sure your intake manifold has the crossover filled if it's stock. Reeds are up to you, not going to be a make or break your setup. Holeshot likes carbon techs on stock cages or vf2s. IMO only go with vforce if you're trying to squeeze every ounce of power out and don't care about replacing reeds every 1-2 seasons or less rather than years. Some people like boyesen fiberglass power reeds for longevity if you're going with stock cages as well.
I agree on the pipe if you're wanting to keep stock tank in your superjet. I personally ran a tnt v3 on mine.

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I'll go for the mod pipe then. Can I use the reeds and cages on my current stock engine? Do I need a different intake manifold as well for the 46's?

If you have dual 38s on your stock motor you can't use stock intake manifold. You can use the reed cages but I wouldn't use the metal petals they come with. A stock 760 intake manifold will work if you fill the crossover with epoxy, that's the cheapest option. Really depends on what your budget is.

Are the aftermarket intakes superior to the 760? Looks like a 760 is about $40. There are a few aftermarket on Ebay, no gaskets though. I could cut some new gaskets easily however:

Riva: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-Sup...664699?hash=item2ce02de33b:g:fRYAAOSwEONb~V6E

R&D: https://www.ebay.com/itm/R-D-intake...081969?hash=item41ff4c9031:g:0XQAAOSwivlckPze

Are those better than the 760? Are the aftermaket reed cages superior to the stock ones? I have some money to spend but would rather not be wasteful if the aftermarket parts aren't noticeably better I'd say.

I don't know the answer to your questions about reeds and intake, but there is some interesting reading here:

http://www.x-h2o.com/index.php?threads/vforce-3-lifespan.192551/page-2

@Jr. Basically recommends modified Kawasaki reeds in that thread at least as a relatively low buck way to go.

If I was going budget I'd do the Kawasaki with the OEM intake and crossover filled, or I'd ask holeshot and just do whatever he says.

I think @waxhead might be able to offer an opinion on the OEM intake vs aftermarket intake, and maybe the rest.

Also get a zeeltronic.

I'm scared to say it because it makes them jump in price. But the 760 manifold is awesome. Easy to get gaskets for and the carb plate is very ridged and will never cause leaks. Just block off the cross over

Roger that, I just snagged one for $55 shipped, includes speed plate, reeds, and trashed carbs. I'm going to port it up a bit for the 46's. I think I'm going to get some new reeds for the stock cages as well. I got talked into the limited B pipe, so that is what I'm going with.

Go with the 760. Also the two on eBay seem a little high in price. Unless Wax has his manifold ready to sale ?¿?

Forgot to list the manifold in my last post. Got a whole entire 760 carb and manifold set for $55. You can't just buy the manifold, you need the speedplate and another metal spacer as well.

Roseand has me convinced that the Mod pipe is the way to go now because the motor will have plenty of low end and the mid and high range will be more valued.

I'm going to wait until everything comes to make another order. I looked at the Zeeltronic on their website but there is nothing listed for a Superjet, not sure what I need there.

Can't wait, my dad and my brother both rode the ski, totally stock. I'm going to do all of this without telling them and see what they say after they ride it.

Im going to have to respectfully disagree on the mod chamber.

I thought I'd update. Thanks for the help so far, especially Roseand who I've been talking with. I have almost everything here and am a few days away from tearing down. I'll list what I've got:

Engine:
HPE 809
Dual cooling (need to find two brass elbow barbs. 3/8th size?)

Intake Setup:
46mm Mikuni SBN 115 low 125 high jetting
Stock 760 intake snorkel
Rhaas speed plate

Header will be ported and widened, tapped for dual cooling (not done yet)
Stock water box modified (not done yet)

Electronics
760 full electronic system (in the mail)
Zeeltronic PDCIS-02T
I want to do a lightened fly but I don't feel like waiting, so I think I'm going to run a stock fly for this season

Pump
Hooker 10/16
I am going to have the pump nozzle bored, I'm just going to my local machine shop
Needs to be tapped for dual cooling (need to find barb)
