SX/SXi/SXi Pro Help me learn my '92 750sx!

Hey all,

Had an account on PWCToday and used it quite often for help with my 550, but as we all know its lame. Love this forum and glad to see the guys I learned the most from are over here and excited to meet the members of X!

I just picked up a '92 750sx with some decent mods on it and havn't even get a chance to ride it yet (hopefully i'm dropping it in the water tomorrow :biggrin:) but I want to learn about a few things I have on it so when it breaks i know how to fix it haha.

Heres the set up:

Small Pin (I Think)
AC Handle Pole
Shortened turnplate w/bars
Full Coffmans Exaust
Dual CDK II Carbs w/ Hotproducts Flame Arrestors
MSD Enhancer
R&D Advance Timing Plate
Ride Plate (Unknown)
Solas Impeller (Unknown Pitch)


I've been doing lots of reading on the MSD and Timing plate and if my understanding is correct this is a good setup for the '92 but not something newer like an sxi pro. My next question relates to the carbs, I know the stock ski only had a single carb but what are the opinions on the dual CKDIIs? i'm not sure what size they are (how do i tell?)

Edit: The top end was rebuilt approx 10hrs ago but i'm not sure if its bored at all, with this set up what gas would you run?

Future Plans:

Install Footholds and De-Purple the thing with new turf
High Comp head??

Looks good man. I would move the high compression head from the future plans list to the current mods list though, looks like it was already done for you. Best mods I could suggest is footholds, tubbie twos's and finding a FP limited pipe and sell the coffman mod pipe. that thing is going to be loud and have more top and mid than low end power. looks like you found a nice little ski though, congrats! Welcome to the X.

Your pipe will be noisy. Check the ignition timing and compression, they may already be too high for pump gas. See what impeller in installed, there may be some performance to be gained depending on what it has. It also needs a deep scoop grate for traction.
 
Finally got a chance to ride it yesterday and I'm probably gonna throw it in today for a quick ride!

I'm very happy with the ski this thing kicks ass compared to my 550 and it's actually not that loud with the coffmans it also has a silencer. She's running strong now I can't wait for the warm weather to stay so I can really rip this thing around!

Haha yup that's where I found it the guy said it was still for sale I went down there and looked at it and it was too clean to pass up
