Help Me Choose The Right Prop

Hello again., i need some help in choosing the right prop for my ski
here is the ski spec
sx650 with a 40mm kiahin carb with 40mm ported and polished mani
coffman exsaust
boyesen reeds
dales bad attitude cdi

i have found a solas 14/17 impeller for a good price.., would this impeller be any good for my ski looking for all round improvment.. thanks matt

My brother has a 650sx with a 14/17 in it. I'm not sure if anything has been done to his motor as far a porting, but the head is milled to run at 180 psi, it has a Mikuni BN44 and a factory pipe on it. We've never had the motor apart to see if the flywheel is lightened or to check for any porting. His ski rips really well. I would say it has average bottom end and really good top end. It's not that far off his SXR with a wet pipe in it for top speed. We think something has been done to the motor because any other 650sx around he's ever ridden with can't touch it.

I'd really like to try a 13/18 in his ski to see the difference, but I have a feeling on his it might be hitting the rev limiter a lot.

The 13/18 would likely be a better impeller for your ski, but depending on what you have in it right now, the 14/17 could also be an improvement. It will definitely be astronomically better than a stock impeller.
