Help: Low end hesitation, sputter or stall.

Since the last 2 rides my '99 Kaw 750 sxi/pro' (twin carbs) has been hesitating, sputtering or has stalled out while after landing a nose stab or jump. Some of the time I smelt a wiff of gas after it stalled out. It starts up fine cold, starts up after a stall, might takes 2 or 3 hits of the start button. I was never stranded in the water, just crappy lower end performance overall. Boat has been very good all season, is stock besides new Wiseco pistons (mid season) and Tau Ceti flame arrestor (beginning of season). Any ideas???

does your tank hold pressure?

could be a stuck needle and seat, bad checkvalve, cracked gas cap, loose hose, etc.

or you could just be running too rich.

Hmmm, my gas cap has small crack, I put glue over the crack, plus it's been cracked for months, I will replace asap though. I checked over all hoses and such, looks okay, although there coud be a tiny breakage somewhere.

Rich: never changed any mix with gas, plugs look good.

I'm clueless when it comes to carbs.......

Okay, that's something I understand and can do easily. I'm draining it tonight. Was you're ski having the same issues?

Only after about 1/2 to 3/4 of a tank mine wouldn't even run. It'd go fine on WOT and a little throttle but anything in between and it would just shut off. I'll post the picture later :twak:
