300/440/550 Help identify JS model and parts...

I'm pretty new to the stand up scene. Can you guys help me identify these parts to the ski I just picked up. I know it's and 1986 from the HIN. Sorry for the cell phone pics and thanks in advance.

Looks like a Dycorp ride plate, Ocean Pro exit and turn nozzles, a Jetsport head, and I am not sure on the exhaust system just yet, need a pic from the left side.

The topend does not have any marking besides some initials carved into it(possibly the builder?). While tearing it down I noticed the intake manifold was jet power too.

In my last picture you can see the top of the exhaust and exhaust mainfold, isn't a 550 a lot larger? I would make a post over at pwctoday but you need 15 or 30 posts to create a thread with pictures in it.

Eventually I am going to get rid of the parts that I can not use.

Thanks again for those who have helped.

Check on top of the flywheel cover. Most of them have a sticker on it that says the displacement. I don't think there is such thing as a "jet power" intake manifold. Maybe jetsport?

Yes Tbone that was my mistake. It's a Jetsport and there is no sticker on the flywheel cover.

I tore down the whole engine compartment today. The exhaust manifold is Westcoast and so is the waterbox. The flywheel is a blue/teal and says RAD or maybe FAD I couldn't really make it out. This ski was probably pretty quick when it was together.

I'm guessing these piston port motor parts do not work on the reed motors. Correct?

The flywheel is RAD. They're sweet. What do you want to use for your reed motor? The flywheel, exhuast mani, and pipe will work. The head wont because the spacing is different on reed and pp motors.

The only part that I really want to hold onto is the ocean pro nozzle. The rest of the parts I will eventually make a "for sale" thread and sell them. Now you have me thinking I should put on the pipe and exhaust mani as well and sell my factory half pipe. hmm winter is almost here...

I would keep the half pipe. What other mods do you have? I like the half pipe on my 550. I only use full pipes on engines turning more rpms with porting, high comp head, dual carbs, etc. Definitely keep the op nozzle, though. It made a big difference on my conversion ski. Have you checked to see if it has a stainless steel prop? It might since it has the op nozzle.

The sad thing is I don't know all of the mods that are done to my ski. I am going riding with the previous owner tomorrow and have him go over the parts list again.

Factory half pipe, waterbox has a westcoast sticker on it (I have yet to see a westcoast waterbox for the sx's), Op ride plate, Op intake grate, Prop (unknown pitch), minuki carb (unknown size.) This is all off of the top of my head, some of the part brands may be wrong.

Ever since I have bought this ski I have just rode it, I never have to work on it (knock on wood!) so I'm not to familiar with what it has done to it. Over the winter I will know my ski like the back of my hand.

I would stick with the halfpipe then. Out of all the 550's I've built, the only one I put a full pipe on was my pjs viper 7000 because it pulls insane rpms.
