This is on my friend's SJ. He bought this years ago and we're not sure on this one. It doesn't have any markings on the outside, it just looks like an aftermarket SBN, but here is a pic of the inside. From what I can tell it looks like Blackjack. Did anybody else ever make annular discharge carbs with nothing else in the throat?

Ya, even the GRS had the pressed top like the BJ, maybe it's an old GRS?

Is the annular discharge way down in the carb right above the throttle plate?

Here's a pic of a GRS (Green Racing Specialties...or Specialist...or whatever) carb that I found on the web.

My GRS carbs have standard SBN tops. Old, new, or whatever...my 44 GRS carbs produced a very noticeable improvement compared to some 44 SBN's tuned very well. I believe mine have GRS stamped or written very lightly at the base but I'm not totally positive on that. Funny thing is, I'm actually running those same flame arrestors.

I want to say that the GRS carbs had 8 holes around the circumference while the BJ carbs have 12. Could've sworn someone else told me that when I asked about differences between GRS and BJ carbs.

I'd have to take another look at em to tell you the location and the number of holes. They really look like that picture you have up there though, so I'm thinking they're the same. 12 holes sounds like a lot too, Im thinking there were less. Thanks for the feedback.

Yep, my BJ 44 has 12 holes.

I thought I'd seen some GRS carbs with the press in throat like BJs have. I'll have to dig through some pics...I might be thinking of something else.
