Hey, I live in Michigan. Where can a guy take his family for a nice vacation, where he can experience surf riding and have a nice surrounding that would be suitable for a wife and kids, who won't be riding. Not familiar with the east coast. I want it to be good/fun for all, and as close to MI as possible. Please advise.

Wave Daze first weekend of october would be a good vacation.... Virginia Beach has alot to offer. and you get real surf riding.... not lake effect waves

I thought I might here from Mr. Yamaslut. :brap:
Daytona, Fl is a great place. I've been there a few time without the ski. Driving 2 days straight is painful! Hoping to shoot straight east, one day drive.

virginia beach is 745 miles each way... that's a do-able 1 day drive..... i did jersey to daytona (985 miles) in 11.5 so the 745 in one day should be cake for you

Cool, good.

Cars on beach? The law permits jet ski riding, right? Nice surrounding for the wife? She'd be pissed if I dragged her out there and all she had to do was sit and watch me. :banghead: Shops, malls, eats, chick stuff, etc. Just checking. :cool2:

Man VB is packed with things to do especially for families. I started putting together a google map on the wavedaze webpage that sorta shows what's where: http://www.wavejunkies.com/wavedaze/location.html . The only problem is that most of the beach cops are very strict before labor day, not so strict after labor day thru Oct 1 but you still can't ride right where the resort area is, and then they're cool if we're cool after Oct 1. You can't drive on the beach. It'd be best to go out with a junkie or two - hit any of us up in pm or on wavejunkies if you want to plan something out!

Only other places I've ridden on the east coast have been Jersey and Daytona and both were fantastic.

Good info, thanks for the invite! This has some good possibilities, most likely for next summer. All booked for this year, just planning ahead.
