I know you can make some good power with a stock stroke. I rode an SS and it was scary fast and very quick. It had total loss, 140 mag pump, dual 48's,and ran race fuel. It was a closed course race boat "yes" I said a race boat, but it hit so hard you had to use the down trim to keep it from jumping out of the water and this is with a heavy stock hull. So yes I believe you can make good power with a stock stroke. I can only imagine what a stroker crank would add to this particular SS. I guess that would make it an 828.
When I say SS I mean it in it's original form. SUPER STOCK. This means under 785cc an oem cylinder and a stock hull. I am sure there are still some real good running super stocks out there. The problem is there are Super Stocks and then there are real SUPER STOCKS. On the outside they both look the same. In the hands of the right engine builder performance is more than skin deep.
Yes they don't look as purdy as the billets but man can they make you look at performance in a whole different way.
