HELP!! Carb gasket! cant get it all ... off!

I can't get my carb gasket off my 550. half of its on the manifold and half iit is on the engine. its like, glued on there! any tips or tricks? i tried a razor but its still not working. :banghead:mfg:

Spray some gasket remover on it and let it sit about 10 minutes.

I have had the best luck with a tub of elbow grease, available at your friendly ACE Hardware.

Kidding...

You can try to get it to soften up by laying an acetone/ mineral spirit saturated rag on the surfaces for a few minutes and then go at it with a razor. Either way it will take a razor to get off, but a solvent may soften it up or weaken the glue for easier scraping.

Note the acetone may ruin the paint.

That would work in a pinch, only if it was the type that contained "acetone"; some dont contain acetone. Also if its scented you might smell like a fairy afterwards. J/K

I would get some mineral spirits or actetone from walmart or home depot,

i've got a portably dental drill air powered with a sanding stone i think i'm gonna go really lightly with that
