Fairly new and have a few questions. Is there any common issue with reserve not working? And does anyone else get shocked by the grip/bars on this ski when entering or exiting deep water? Is that normal or? My 650sx also did the same thing and also reserve didn't work.

Where should I start and thanks in advance!

ive had issues with my 94 sx the reserve not working, i would just switch it back and forsth between on , off and reserve and it would start working...as far as the umm shocking issues your having no idea! Such a legit ski it shocks you lol

yeah it seems progressive with the throttle amount/spark so if i give it a bit of gas its a damn good sting. Not sure why so much current would be in the bars.

Does the 750 sxi have some type of insulation for the kill switch around the bars? im thinking this has to be it. But my ski had different bars when i got it. Then i switched bars yesterday but am still getting shocked. Anyone know if there is insulation there?

ummmm you should not be getting shocked

sounds like you have exposed wires somewhere...

if you reserve doesnt work well then either the fuel selector is gunked up OR you need to replace fuel lines...good starting point

I didnt notice any exposed wires its all completely stock. Ill look again. Do you know if the killswitch body is usually metal to the bars or did it have rubber between the two stock?

yeah its no fun either, im thinking there has to be an exposed wire on the killswitch maybe right off the switch or somewhere water is hitting it directly. I need to take apart that switch for the reserve issue as this thing drinks gas only able to use about 2 gallons

compression was 140 with a weak battery, just got a new battery in the mail yesterday so ill retest it.

ill check carb and yeah thats what i did on my 650sx just bypassed switch.

I just got the ski and its stock besides a AC Pole and the bars and stem i put on it. ( it was shocking me before that upgrade, and still after)

Ive just taken it out twice to make sure it all runs good and finding out what needs to be fixed etc. It was sitting for a year or two depending on if he was telling the truth (last registered in 2011) but it was a good deal 1995 sxi, 1984 550sx thats bone stock looks like it came out of a time machine with Fun Tech " The wedge" that things hilarious. and a two place trailer for 2g just full of dust and sitting way up in the mountains.

He tried taking the original stickers off and it was a mess looked like a little kid was trying to peel the graphics off with fingernails it was half done and glue everywhere with dirt on it, that took at least 3 hours with a heat gun to fix.

your kill switch is shorting out

Yeah i think this is the problem too, the actual wires look perfect but the insulation has some dry rot. seems odd it would leave the wire thats still got its coating and arc to the bars, however im no electrician.

I wrapped it with electrical tape to see if that did anything and it worked for a few crashes then once it was soaked or what not it got back to normal. Just didnt want to go splicing and shrink wrapping right away.

ok narrowed the problem down, the block itself is live while just sitting there. with a wet finger i can get shocked on the spark plug, head bolts, and cdi box bolts. Thinking i have a bad/loose ground in the cdi thats keeping the whole system live even when the ski is off.....

i think your right on i had a 550 with the shocking problem and if i remember it was a lose positive cable check from battery to ebox and battery - to the block make sure there is no corrosion
