I have a bell Drop and it is really comfortable... it is a downhill mtb helmet... as for the DOT ratings and everything... a downhill helmet will be fine! They are made to take the hits that pro downhill riders take which can be 70mph+

A DOT approved helmet would almost be more dangerous since it is so heavy you could wreck your neck when you crash into water at high speed haha

We definately do not take hits this hard haha...
