head gasket ?

im putting my motor back together but dont know what side of the gasket touches the cylinder head and what side touches the case? one side of the gasket is plain and the other side has a thin strip of something.. ive included pics of each side of the gasket

i don't remember, but I thought it could only go on one way because of the 2 small holes on the gasket.

Gasket will only go on one way as stated by KEEGAN! The locating dowel pins dictate this.
