Head Gasket??

Do you guys know if an 82mm piston will pass through a stock 701 head gasket? I have a stroker motor and I want to lower the comp. Right now it is just o-ringed.

Putting a gasket on will significantly lower your compression. Why not just replace the domes and do it right?

PS - They do make head gaskets for a 701 with at least 83mm bores.

Because it is a cast Protec head. My only other option is to have the combustion chamber opened up. I'm going to give the gasket a shot and see where it puts the comp..

Well I put a stock head gasket on and now my comp. is at 150psi. Now it's lower than I want. Does anyone make a thinner head gasket?

Yeah, I did the same thing, put on a pro-tec rec head and got 192 psi with just the o-ring.
And I didn't really want to run other than pump gas.
What about a thicker cyllinder base gasket. This will alter your port timing though.

I know Superjet-113 used to sell copper head gaskets with whatever thickness you wanted but I thought I heard he quit selling gaskets all together because he couldn't meet the new ridiculous vendor quantities. If he doesn't sell them, maybe he can point you in the right direction to someone you can.
