Head Gasket Selection...

I am told I need a oem head gasket.

I have a group k motor with milled head and they highly recomend oem gasket tahts what its made for.

any one have any experience with using diffrent kinds.

Will the oem for a 701 work on my 650???

no you need to use a 650 one
unless you are bored out to 701
in which case it will fit

the oem gaskets are the best

My 650 is bored out to a 701 (well 81mm that is)

So wax your saying I can use it on my 650.

Are all 701 head gaskets teh same.

no
there are two types of 701 head gaskets dependng on your head

what head are you using

you can tell the difference between the head gaskets by the round bit on the type of the square piece of material on the head
thats the bit that sits on top of the square block that stick out the side of the cylinder

I dont quite understand the 2 type explination but I could get a picture tomorrwo and we can see.

I hate when I cant sleep its 2:20am and I have 2 big tests tommorow that I need to get up early to study for lol I LOVE MY SUPERJETS!!!!!!!!!

you need to get an early single carb head gasket
so like a 94 waveblaster one will be fine

I have a stock 650 head on stock 650 cylinders bored to 701 and the head is milled some.

Are the domes in the head also opened up to 81mm to match the bore of the cylinder?

the holes on the gasket need to match the holes for the cooling passages on the head or you will overheat your engine.
