I don't know about Cool Head, but I know that ADA recommends that the water exits the cylinder/head from the carburator side of the cylinder. I would think that if you put it on backwards your cylinder would not cool optimally.

Hope that helps...

I wouldn't worry about it. As long as you have water flowing through there you are not going to have a problem. Also the way the bolt pattern is on the cylinder a head can only go on one way or else the bolts are not going to line up. You might just have the head cap on backwards (3 part head)

Don't sweat it.

Aren't those exhaust support mounting for various exhaust types?

Yup, and they should be on the other side. However, like matty180 said, if it's a 3 part head it might not matter much I guess. I would turn it around myself, but that's just me.

i have the same head....i had it all apart when i was trying to figure out what domes work for it and it is symetrical on each side....wouldnt mader about whcih way you have it unless you are using the exaust bolts which are needed for most dry pipes....

I forgot!
i just read this post and realized my ada head is backwards so i switched it to make it right, the only thing that i could see to be different is that the water comes in from the exhaust side and they want it cross over to the carb side to exit??? thats it, it looked pretty symetrical as well. good thing i did though cause i notice it was missing the o-rings that sit in the shell around the domes. been run like that for a year and a half with no problems
