Havasu riding question

Alright im on my way to havasu to take the 650 on its maiden, but I had a question about something that ive been fearing for the last day lol. It will sound stupid but im curious, if I for some reason sink the 650 and I cant find it what the hell do I do? Obviously I put lots of work and some money but not to the point where it be worth hiring a diver or radar boat lol. Is it illegal for me to just let the river claim it and not say anything? Or is it my responsibility 5o get it outta there. Thanks for any answers I know its stupid but I just wanted to double check.

If it is stock, it will have enough foam that it wont sink. If you are still worried buy a pool noodle and shove as much of it as you can in the engine bay.

My old 650 was stock with stock foam and sank a few times like a rock! If my superjet didnt have the power it did it woulda been a gonner a few times. Dont let it fill up with water!

Unless your hull is waterlogged inside under the tray area it shouldn't sink.
A swamped SJ or 650SX will float with just the rear of the ski sticking out of the water like 2-5 +/- inches. I floated down the Missouri river with my 650SX under water, hugging it in the dark for 5 miles to the ramp one time a long time ago(1991). Its a long story...hahah

Have fun, be safe, and keep your head on a swivel looking out for all the idiots this weekend!

Weird. I've sunk both a 650sx, ad multiple different superjets. They don't sink. They bob ass up about 8-12 inches out of the water. If yours sunk it wasn't stock in the tray area. I have a superjet that is absolutely as waterlogged in the tray as it can possibly be, and it won't sink. In the ocean or the river.

Lol thanks for the suggestions gents. Nothing happend and the stock bilge worked great. Only thing was that old wiring for the start stop switch and the retrofitted tether kill swith ended the trip early for the 650sx. I was pissed. But my dad, brother and I had a blast. After so much crap talking they are probably going to get some standups instead of seadoos. So anyone know which start stop swithc is better? I want an upgrade that has a built in tether.

You should be able to put a 550 stop switch on there. It uses the same plug as the 650. You can get brand new lanyard face plates for a 550 for $20 or so at any kawasaki dealer. That would be the easiest and cheapest fix.
