Has anyone ever converted the HF hitch hauler for a ski?

hey shawn, where in FL are you headed? in fl, youre allowed an 8'6" width trailer. since most standups are about 7'6", you should be okay. its no wider than an obnoxious hummer.

btw, heres my hauler.....

Sweet hauler! Going to Ormond for most of the time to ride in the daytona zone. Might do 2 days of riding @ hugo, secret spot for a day or 2, whatever.... I havent ridden since daytona and thats all I want to do for 7-8days strait. And I do NOT want to wear a wetsuit! We have had some low 60's temps, here or there. I need 80's ASAP!

i built one two years ago... used it a few times... if you want it ill let it go for 40 bucks...

i found its not worth it for me to try and load/unload myself because its made out of painted steel and all i ride is salt.

I had a Durango and I made the hauler long enough so I could open the rear gate w/ it on there...

mine is the 4.7... less power and drinks just as much gas.... it does alright though.

i bought it with a flowmaster 40 and k&n FIPK intake on it.

now i put some different rims and tires on it. my next step is to buy some tires that actually look right with the body/susp lift. i just don't want to shell out 800 bucks for 33's.

yeah... I had oversized tires on mine... that will look good w/ some solid rubba on there...

Ok made 2 of them up today. $95 at the local steel yard. $1 a pound so each one is under 50lbs.
First one I built at 12 inch wide and it just wasnt right the ski sat funny so the 2nd one I made 14 wide and that seems to be the better fit I need to go back and get one more of the 4 foot to redo the first one.
So here it is.

I am thinking 2 inch stock into the receiver then the 2 other bars be C Channel that a 2x4 can fit in tall ways and I can drill holes along the bottom to screw the 2x4s in. I would brace the hell out of it too.

What do you think for Sizes here?

that exactly how i did it but on the ends i weld to bars also. it cost me nothing because i took some scrap from work and it has held pretty well so far and comes in handy bc im not throwing the ski in the back of the bed.

i have the ski behind my silverado and it barely sticks out so i dont see any problem for anyone else
