handlebar recommendation for tall rider

I've currently got a '94 Blaster with the UMI handlebars and love it but after a season of thrashing I feel like the bars are too short. I'm 6'6" tall and when I'm riding my stance is way to hunched over. Are there any tall blaster riders out there that can give me a good recommendation on a bar set to make the riding position a little more comfortable? Here's a shot that shows my current setup. Thanks

We have an '' Iron pony "" motorcycle /4 wheeler shop in my area and they have 100's of bars for dirt bikes that would fit and you could LOOK at to check them out , Its just an Idea ! and with your length of arms go for a wider set also ,buy a name brand so they dont get bent ! FWIW

sounds like your headed in the right direction , I think any good quality bar that would give you a height and width increase and fits the saddles exactly would be a big plus for you and you would probly feel good with them

Alright, I'm starting to whittle this down. Now, I'm trying to decide between the KX HI bend which is 108mm high or the Pastrana bars which are 121mm high (the highest they offer). Also, it looks like the Pro-Taper universal solid mount kit adds 3/4" which would be nice and if I'm not mistaken I need an adapter kit since the UMI bars are 7/8" thick correct? I also PMed LBE on here, he's got some adapters which are even taller than the Pro-Tapers but I couldn't find them online. My only concern is I don't want it to look too freaken tall like monkey bars or something.

I'm 6'3" and I put some spacers to raise the stock bars up about 3". Made all the difference in the world for standing up and riding. If you do go with mx bars, make sure they are high quality. Don't know about the UMI but the stock steering mounts are narrower than mx and I've snapped mx bars where they mount due to the added leverage.

ive got a set of pro tapers on mine... i like them wide too. some people get on my blaster and hate the wide bars.

i think mine were CR HI. the bars were 70 bucks and adaptors were 10 or 15. it didnt come with stainless hardware so i had to spend a few bucks more at ACE.

total cost ~100 bucks.

Those look real good. Definitely the direction I need to go, I can't believe I rode a whole season with the UMIs. I think I will like my bars wide as well. How tall are you and how do you like the height? I'm considering these tall adapters LBE uses

i am only 5' 10" but i hated the stock bars..

i found it easier to side mount the ski in the surf with wider bars.

make sure you zip tie the pad on there too... i lost mine five minutes into its first surf ride...

luckily it floats and i got it back... but its zip tied on now.

also if you are running the stock steering think about getting an accusteer if you are going to run the pro tapers, you will thank yourself. (UMI bars dont fit the accusteer)

i have the UMI steering on my 96 and an accusteer waiting to be installed, just waiting for my pro tapers to get here
