300/440/550 Handle pole pivot

Has anyone had to repair the handle pole pivot. Im refering to where the stainless bolts runs through the pole at the mounting bracket. Mine is worn enough that the pole contacts the hood. I would like to keep the original pole because it is still in better shape than the replacement that I have. Didnt know if I could bore it out and install a sleeve.
Any thoughts on this?

Thought about it. Just didnt wanna have to deal with the turf wearing down in the future. I know its a long shot to save a 550 but I figured I could bore out the hole and press in some kind of sleeve. I figured as long as these skis have been around someone has repaired their original pole

i understand the problem and the fix is pads on the hood.

put the pads/truf on the hood next to the band. if you lift the pole up so it sits an inch or two higher when it is in the down position it cant hit the hood.

I don't think I would want to be riding with that much play in the pole. I'd think you could buy a small piece of pvc that fits the bolt well and then drill the pole til it fits. I've never done such a thing and you'll have to watch what will fit through the spring but I'd fix it.

I just snapped my 750 pole this weekend and it made me think of this thread. Mine was from getting a little too inverted with no limiting strap but I would be scared if that hole was ovaled out that far. Jar that thing right and I could see cracking it out the rest of the way. I was amazed how easy mine snapped.

Thats a good idea with PVC. I was thinking about a teflon bushing or something similar. I guess I will have to just wing it.

dont reinvent the wheel just buy the ones made for the 40/50. should be a part #31-660115

but like I said before they all rub and notice that you are only rubbing one side. so realign the pole and buy the "shock pads" too. should be a p/n TS411.

try the rad dudes they can probably get this stuff for you.

are your pole bushings tight? sometimes, you can jsut tighten the bushings at the pin / bolt. make sure your pole mount is straight as well. you may need to loosen under the nose, and adjust.

we have new, over sized bushings here, if you need. also have the hood pads.

give me a call if i can help.
