group of us went to corsons inlet today.went out for first session when we came back we noticed all three of us had trailor reg tickets writin by the fish and wildlife service.now granted two of us were expired.
but the kicker is there were about six to seven people with the same issue and we were the ones with tickets.we figured it was because we didnt use the ramp but put our skies in with a beach cart OFF THE BEACH to save us all 10$ each.wonderful way to start the season

Sorry to hear that.

We've been havin issues with the man lately too. At the lake and with the business. Annoying... We thought all our stuff was legal, but they changed some laws on us without notification, or posting etc... Ghay I say.

It sucks when you think all of your stuff is legal, but it's not. Registrations are handy though.

It's Memorial Day weekend... All the sheriffs, DNR, and other officers are out in full swing watching for anything out of place. Probably won't be a problem for the rest of the season.

That sux. But the economy may have something to do with it as well. Municipalities everywhere are feeling the pinch and doing all they can to generate revenue. The holiday is a perfect time to get your money.

Ya, we have to buy registration to use the ramp every year. We never park there, just load/unload and return the vehicles to the cabin. My parents have a tag, I don't. I know of a few people that have gotten tickets there while parked.

What pisses me off is that they will come by, ticket vehicles, but leave the launch dwellers alone. It's not legal to fish or swim from the boat launch but people do, and we have to fight with them and watch out for their retarded kids every time we launch. There is no public park or beach on the lake, so these people think they can the boat launch as such.

Sorry, I'll get off my :soapbox: now. Just had to vent.

Boykid and myself had a problem a few weeks ago. Went to ride the surf at hunting island and as we get one ski on the beach dolly the DNR pulls up and says you cant launch here. Then we tell him the person at the gate told us we could. he said nope you can ride the surf here and even beach your skis but you cant launch. So basiclly what he was saying is launch when no one is looking i guess. The nearest boat ramp would be like a 2 mile ride out to the surf...... So no local surf for me

HAHA we got run off at Huguenot state park too a few weekends later with threats of fines and citations. We rode this weekend at Hugo and never even saw DNR. Actually would have been nice for once, they could have towed me in as I drifted out to sea. Jordan you missed a beautiful day!

Last Sept I launched there and the attendant told me to keep the green paper they give me (for the $10), in my windshield, or they would ticket me for parking the trailer there. Maybe its some rule they started enforcing with the permit/parking trailers?

Last fall (off-season) I was at Corson's and an older DNR guy was putting a ticket on a beater with a boat trailer in the parking lot. I asked why he was getting a ticket, because exp sticker wasn't out of date and there's no fees to use the ramp, and the DNR cop said the tags didn't match the trailer. I didn't know they had the capability to cross-check that info on the spot or would bother but apparently they do. I'm an offender of that as I have two trailers and swap my tag back and forth depending on which one I use but thankfully he didn't check me out that day. :woot:

I wonder if it's just a ramp & lot jurisdiction thing and if parking out on the street would prevent any hastles? :ugh2:

I swap the tag as well. But none of my trailers have a VIN. All designated "home made". I'm sure it's all different state to state.
