Gulf Coast peeps, watch out for the space shuttle!

No he will not!
Tonight, IF the space shuttle gets to come home they will pretty much follow the gulf coast from about Corpus Christi, TX through FL till it crosses over to KSC. If you're along that path you may be able to hear the sonic booms, and if it's dark you may be able to see the plasma trail. Touch down time here is 8:40 ET. Of course this all depends on our weather clearing up, which does not look good......and they have already waved off the first attempt which would have been here just after 7pm.

Just an FYI.

Just a guess, but it should be around 15 minutes before touch down. It will still be very high in the atmosphere at that point so it would then take several minutes for the sound to reach the ground.
