The hull feels very light , and it will take a bit to get to where I feel more comfortable with it . and I can give a better review, But it wants to leap out of the water it will almost break the surface of the water from idle.

coming off half to full throttle watch out .... the nose drops quick and it will throw you over the front of the bars. I also was pitched a few times trying to see how fast I could go .

Skywalker rode with me last night and loved it ..he thinks once the trim is worked out it will go around,
. I am sure he will chime in sometime to give his opinion,,, he wants to drop his 1200 into one!

You could try trimming your nozzle up some, this may help with the nose planting hard. Or try a less agressive intake grate.

I guess by scare I mean that point where the hull begins to get unstable and out of control. I typically can feel the hull walk all over the place and just below that point is where I'm comfortable. Unfortunately, my comfort zone right now is not fast enough to keep up with any boats.

Ride an fx1,about as unstable.Maybe worse!

this boat feels more stable than an fx1 in my opinion

I ll have to get back with you nut... I am working on the trim and I think I ll try changing the intake like bk said ...
I also thought I could get away with out running a hood seal ........ WRONG.. so I installed one ..

ramjet recommended drying out my pipe some , so I am going to try that as well .
tweaking a few things . then run again

Went out again today after a few mods... first of all.. Thanks Harrison .. changing that intake from an protec to a stock intake grate made a HUGE difference.. no more throwing me over the bars after letting off the accelerator , and I was able tto give it full throttle and it didnt pitch me off the side of the boat ..WOOO WHOOO
And Ramjets suggestion was to stick a 2.0 needle seat in the water line in front of the stinger ( basically a jetworks flo control valve) Big difference!!!
installing a hood seal helped a ton aswell . The B pipe chamber sizzles pretty good after a ride , wondering if it might be getting too hot. Any way to tell ?
Trim works better now but maybe only about to 15-20 deg of throw I can get more with some more tweeking and a few mods .

Skywalker threw 1 bf attempt and got completely upside down but no further.. Mind you today was one of the calmest days we have had in a long time about as flat water as we get.

I am deffinately loving the boat a lot more now after this ride !

I may have to give the stock intake grate a shot and see how the ski rides then.

Yes your pipe is too hot. If you don't fix it now, you'll be changing pipe couplers like underwear. If you check out the instructions on FP's website, they say that the pipe should sizzle lightly after riding for a few minutes. Once it does, open up the top screw about a 1/4 turn and retest. If not more sizzle, you're good. If it still sizzles, open it a tiny bit more.

I had fun riding your hull today chad, it keeps getting better and better. Sorry for the lame backy attempt, i think if the idle was higher and the trim bugs were worked out it just might happen. When are we putting in the 1200? I bet it would feel like someone unhooked the plow, lol. Trim it up and we'll try again.

Glad to see your getting the stunt dialed in.Looks like l may start with a stock scoop grate after reading your post.

l was also interested to see that you restricted the water flow at the stinger.l really didn't think you needed one with the resonator.l'm running the same style resonator.hmmmmm!

How responsive is she? Acceleration and turning?

I have the water line "T'd " from the front stinger and running to the silencer up front , the restrictor is before both of those ... dried em both out ..
Turning and acceleration are very responsive, acceleration was a hugh difference from the Sj hull I took the motor from .

Good Deal.

I rode this today. It is a very fun and lightweight ski. Its strange at first to be on such a short ski, it looks like the handlepole goes straight to the water. A mild 701 motor feels like a monster, its amazing how a hull can change a motors performance so much. The hood seals like no other and the fuel tank and filler are perfect. Chads still making little changes, but it is very close to being dialed. Its a very solid ski he built it right. This thing would be a blast in the lake chop, its feels like nothing in the air. I have no doubt It'll get flipped this summer.

Its so cool to see something this cool built out of a couple of fiberglass halves. While he has quite a bit of labor in it, its built the way he wanted for very little cash.

Nice Job Chad.

are you running dual cooling? If so where in the cooling loop are you running your pissers, and how many? Im just trying to get ideas, Im running dual cooling both to the manifold, and i need to get water to my resonator also.

yes dual cooling .. both in coming lines to the bottom of the manifold.
one off the head to top of b pipe
one off head out the boat ( pisser)
bottom of b pipe to the stinger t'd twice , one to a pisser .
one to stinger ( restricted)
and one to silencer
hope that makes since.
Sorry I dont have a paint program on this computer , or I would draw you a picture

thanks a lot! so the line from the bottom of the pipe to the stinger, you have t'd twice, is the pisser t first? So itd be like this from the bottom of the headpipe?

I started that way exactally ... but Ramjet said to only restrict the stinger ,(full stream to the silencer /resinator)..so I moved it after the T .. other than that your spot on mate!
