Grease fittings

Speak up ,don't kiss azz
How often do you guys grease fittings in your Superjet's/Blaster's .And how many pulls of the gun

I was greasing my 97 SJ today and squeezed off about 10 pulls with a small grease gun and then after noticed that there was grease all over my bilge pumps and drive shaft area (what a mess but a good mess) .

I did the same thing to my Blaster and no mess

Where could the grease have come out ??
could the hose have popped off or something burst .

Thanks for your endless wisdom

A couple (two) squeezes after several rides or 10-hourish if that. If you put too much in, it can push out a seal. If you watch the hose when pumping and it moves, I call it good enough.

how many fittings are there? (found this thread courtesy of the search function)

There's a long blue hose that goes up beside the head of the b pipe that is a fitting that goes down to the pump. Are there anymore?

Just one fitting. In a stock configuration, it mounts to the carbs/intake manifold.

does it use a regular grease gun fitting and what is it greasing exactly, is there on on by the coupler for the driveshaft? And the only place to grease the rear of the pump is behind the pump cone right? Ive never greased anything before.

Then what do you do on a 6m6 housing? I have wondered this verse my 701 midshaft housing. Never looked close enough to see exactly where its going.

Just rub grease around the shaft down there?

There isn't anything you can do on the older bearing/housing.
The grease doesn't lubricate anything, as the bearings are sealed - I think (Not sure). It just pushes the seals apart a bit to keep water out and the seals tight.
