I realized you asked for what is involved. Here is a list of everything I had to do. It is not the only way to do it but it is what worked for me. I had a Waveraider donor. A member over on PWC Today, WFO Speedracer, did one of these and he has a pretty good write up. I found that recently and wish I had found it earlier. The link is

If you go with ADA plates:
1. Move gas tank forward (May or may not be required with 1200).
2. Install Waveraider waterbox. I mounted both because all of the stock hoses work from the raider that way. Many people only mount the one main one.
3. I ordered Extreem Throttle's rear 3" exhaust outlet and it worked very well. You then have to block off the old exhaust outlet. I got a plate that bolted into the location but I don't remember who I ordered the plate from.
4. Cut firewall hole larger for exhaust to waterbox hose connection.
5. I installed the trim from the Waveraider. This is not required but I had it so I did it. I modified it to work with a bike lever as I never really liked the twist grip trim controller. I had to order a special cable from Terry Cable and it worked awesome. I kept the stock Raider trim actuator though and mounted it below the hood. You will see it in the pictures. The cable from Terry Cable only controls that and it goes back to neutral on its own.
6. You need a longer choke cable or convert to a primer setup.
7. I installed the Waveraider gas tank because it has more capacity. My only problem is that it is taller and coupled with moving forward, the fuel filler hose was not all downhill. I mounted the raider fuel fill above the tank right behind the front storage compartment and got some Ultra flexible fuel fill hose from somewhere in England. The website is Car Builders Solutions. I think if you used Extreem Throttles plates, you would avoid this hassle because the tank would not need to be moved forward. I am not positive about that though.
That is what it took for me to make it work. It took a fair amount of time because I was figuring things out as I went. I also had to rebuild my 1100 because it had scoured cylinder walls. Jetmaniac hooked me up with boring, new pistons, seals and a few other misc. parts. His service is awesome. Super fast and great work.
I like the retro look of the stock graphics and colors so I kept it that way. It is also cheaper and takes less time. It just took a bit of polishing and it cleaned up pretty good. Just had to re-cover the seat.
