Got my new umi bars... Question...

on one side of the bar there is a hole with threads in it... what is this for. is it suppose to be facing up or down. i imagine down so water can drain... or am i suppose to put a SS screw in there to seal it up?

The threaded hole is for your factory Finger throttle. Thats if you're still using it

guess i will just flip the bars and face it down as a drain.

flip them over, see where it lines up as far as your start stop switch has that little dimple where you are suppose to drill a hole for it (so it does not rotate)...... I just grind the nipple down.

now that I think of it, there is not a hole for the finger throttle, that hole is for the start stop switch........... unless they have changed.........it been since 1999 since I installed a new set of bars on a SJ!

Not on the set of bars I have. I still have my stock finger throttle so I had to use the hole with threads for it, and then I just shaved off the little plastic nipple on the inside of the start/stop switch so that it was fit on the other side.

I had to use the threaded hole to install my stock finger throttle on the Square. Making second guess myself.

You know, It been so long, come to think about it, my bars did not have a hole, neither did a friend of mines when I put his on, cause when I drilled the hole for the finger throttle I got it twisted by accident.......
